The Roseburg Plug founder Shane Hayes has been named a program director at KQUA, the volunteer-driven community radio station broadcasting on 99.7 FM in Roseburg and 90.5 FM in Glide.
He's sharing the role with Joseph Ziegler, founder of The Roseburg Receiver. They're stepping in for longtime program manager and station engineer Patrick Schneider, who led KQUA's programming for 8 years, since 2018.
What This Means For KQUA
As program directors, Shane and Joseph will oversee programming development and work alongside KQUA's volunteers and show hosts. They'll also build new community partnerships, including new opportunities for Douglas County residents to get involved on air.
The Outlet Podcast, produced by The Roseburg Plug, already airs on KQUA Saturdays at 8AM. It's one of several ways the two organizations already work together.
“Our goal isn't to change what makes KQUA special,” Joseph said, describing the partnership as another way to share important local information with the community.
